A New Chapter for Graham Beck’s Winemaking Excellence
The House of Graham Beck is delighted to announce the appointment of Lizemari Geldenhuys as Winemaker, joining the team in early January 2025. This exciting addition brings fresh expertise to the renowned Cap Classique producer as it continues its pursuit of the perfect bubble.


Lizemari Geldenhuys: A Passion for Cap Classique
Lizemari comes to Graham Beck with an impressive background, having served as the most senior winemaker at Kleine Zalze, where she specialised in Cap Classique production. During her tenure, she worked closely with the Cellar Master on developing their portfolio of red and white wines, but it was in the realm of sparkling wine that she truly found her passion.




"Cap Classique has grown into a bit of an obsession for me," Lizemari shares. "I love that each bottle undergoes its own individual journey of secondary fermentation, allowing for creativity and precision in determining each specific style."


Global Experience Meets South African Excellence
A graduate of Stellenbosch University with a BSc in Viticulture and Oenology, Lizemari has broadened her winemaking perspective through international experience. She has worked two vintages in California and one in Australia before returning to South Africa. This global exposure has enriched her approach to winemaking, bringing valuable insights to Graham Beck's world-class production.


Beyond the Cellar: An Adventurous Spirit
When not crafting bubbly, Lizemari embraces her love for the outdoors through scuba diving, mountain biking, and canoeing – activities that reflect her adventurous spirit and connection to nature.
