Celebrating Champagne Day | Taste the Stars
The fourth Friday of October is Champagne Day (28 October). The story of Champagne begins with Dom Pérignon, a Benedictine monk who lived in the Abbey of Saint Pierre in the Champagne region of France during the 1700s. Here, among other duties, he worked on improving some of the oldest aspects of Champagne-making. The story goes that when Dom Pérignon first created his delicious sparkling wine, he called out to his fellow monks, “Come quickly, I am tasting the stars!”
This #ChampagneDay, join us as we raise our glasses to our friends in France, who created the exceptional craft of sparkling wine so that millions of bubbly enthusiasts worldwide can share in the joy of tasting the stars. Let’s toast to 51 years of South African Cap Classique – proudly celebrating 51 years of bottled magic!
